Privacy Policy

Account data: When you register, we collect your email address and optional display name via Supabase Auth. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext.

Speed test data: Download speed, upload speed, ping, jitter, WiFi score, optional floor number, room type, and network name — submitted voluntarily when you complete a test.

Location data: GPS coordinates used only during an active speed test to identify nearby hotels via the Google Places API. Coordinates are not stored persistently beyond the test session.

Usage data: Standard server logs including IP address, user agent, and request timestamps, retained for up to 30 days.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Speed test results (scores, speeds) are displayed publicly on hotel pages and the leaderboard. Your display name is shown alongside tests you submit. Email addresses are never displayed publicly.

We use the following third-party processors: Supabase (database and auth), Google Places API (hotel detection), and Vercel (web hosting). Each processor is bound by their own privacy and data protection agreements.

Account data and test results are retained indefinitely to preserve the community dataset. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing privacy@speedstay.app — we will process requests within 30 days.

We use session cookies issued by Supabase Auth to keep you signed in. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.

SpeedStay is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has registered, contact us at privacy@speedstay.app.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
