Install SpeedStay

SpeedStay runs from your home screen like any other app. There is no app store download and nothing to sign up for — it takes about thirty seconds.

Installing it matters more than it sounds: hotel WiFi is exactly where a slow page load makes you give up, and the installed app opens instantly.

iPhone and iPad

Use Safari. Other browsers may work on newer versions of iOS, but Safari always does.

  1. Open speedstay.app in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow pointing up. It is at the bottom of the screen on iPhone, the top on iPad.
  3. Scroll down the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen. It sits below the row of apps, so it is easy to scroll past.
  4. Tap Add in the top right corner.
  5. Open SpeedStay from your home screen. It fills the screen with no browser bar.

Android

Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Samsung Internet all work.

  1. Open speedstay.app in your browser.
  2. Open the browser menu — usually three dots in the corner.
  3. Tap Install app, or Add to Home screen.
  4. Confirm.
  5. Open SpeedStay from your home screen or app drawer.
One thing to expect

The installed app may ask you to sign in again even if you were signed in on the web. That is normal and it only happens once — your tests and properties are all still there.
